Kitchen CanistersKitchen canisters, those handy, sometimes pretty and definitely practical containers to house and protect precious dry goods like coffee and flour graced counter tops of the deco and mid century homes. Indispensable and making a comeback, there are many to choose from depending on your household décor and needs. Whether you store them in the pantry or they have a place of distinction on your counter canisters are a lovely addition to any kitchen. 1. I prefermy canisters to be see through. Usually not the most beautiful but they allow me to see at a glance if I am running out of anything. But with all the cake I make, I could surely use this canister to store cake!

  2. Hi! Yes, I’m very particular when looking for kitchen canisters. As a matter of fact, I don’t have any on my counters and haven’t for years but I could really use them with all the baking I do. Currently I’m using a big rectangle plastic tub for flour, smaller square for brown sugar and then I have one of those plastic see through canisters for sugar all hidden in the cupboard. I really need to start looking around to find a set that I love. Thank you for pointing me to a few ;-) Love the canisters shown. Thanks!

  3. I have ceramic ones with some roosters on them. They were a gift from my mother-in-law and I really didn’t like them at first. But they really fir in nicely with my French country theme!

  4. I can see the logic in using see through – I prefer not to see, especially if on my counter top. A see through canister may sit in my pantry, but on my counter, I prefer a solid color…for years, I have had white Martha Stewart ceramic canisters…the time has come to retire them. Moving on to something a little more dramatic, something that will contrast in my white kitchen…a lovely set of black ones. The hunt begins!!

The set pictured is lovely…and, a cake canister…you can’t beat that! Unique and practical!

  5. I used to only have mine tucked away, mostly due to space constraints, but I have come to love having my flour and sugar on the counter. I have a separate coffee bar, and canisters for tea and coffee so this doesn’t clutter up my work space.

There are so many great ones to choose from. Depending on style, space and usage, if you love to bake, it is super to have a few staples at your finger tips! What’s your kitchen decor like?

  6. Well having roosters on your canisters would fit perfectly into that country theme. Funny how something we get that may at first not seem right, fits in after all.

With what colors is your kitchen decorated?
