DaffodilsThe color of flowers has meaning. Yellow flowers are associated with sunshine and joy. When you think of spring, the daffodil comes to mind. Yellow flowers bloom earliest which gives them their association with spring; blooming when they do because light flowers, blooms earliest. Adding yellow flowers to your home and spaces brings in energy and light because they reflect their radiant color filling the space. Bringing in yellow blowers is to bring in happiness and new beginnings. When grey days linger, this is the perfect time to bring in those first signs of spring to lift the spirits and add warmth. It’s hard not to smile when you see a bright yellow bunch of flowers!

Pearl In A ShellThe Pearl. The oldest known gem. This pure, unique and everlastingly beautiful symbol of perfection. For centuries the pearl (in Latin which literally means ‘unique’) was considered the most valuable of gems. There is a fragment of the oldest piece of pearl, found in the sarcophagus of a Persian princess dated in 520 BC on display in the Louvre in Paris. In classical Rome there were restrictions on who could wear pearls. Throughout Europe pearls were worn by both sexes and adorned their clothing. However, in the 13th and 14th centuries there were also laws regarding who could wear them; forbidding teachers and lawyers from wearing fringes or chains with pearls. Angela's Chanel PearlsPearls are made by nature, and in the 1930’s cultured pearls arrived making pearls more affordable and available than ever before. While there was initial resistance, one designer most notably embraced them: Coco Chanel. She made the gems a part of her designs. Availability has not diminished the image of this great timeless classic.
