Apples with Vanilla & Lavender? I would love to see this recipe! I just spent a weekend in June at Lavender Blue farm in Sparta, ON and I purchased kitchen grade lavender. It’s the first time I ever heard of using lavender as a stand-alone herb for cooking – tried a caramelized onion and lavender foccacia while there. I need to feel braver and get some more recipes!
My boyfriend is moving in August first and I dream of us having a glorious cook book with lovely photography and inspiration to begin our time together! Oh the memories we will make as well

Thanks for question. Lovage is a cousin to celery. This plant is a flavoring not a main item. There are lots of lovely things you can make with lovage. Here’s a site I stumbled on for you with information and recipes that use lovage http://oldfashionedliving.com/lovage.html

It was someone’s comments on twitter (@Merincognito) regarding their love of mangoes in relation to your summer cookbook that caught my eye and led me here. Oh how I love mangoes. I have even grilled mangoes for a simple summer dessert for BBQ entertaining.
Your cookbook looks so lovely and the photos so mouthwatering. Oddly, while I have been following you on twitter, I have only just discovered your website and blog (obviously I am not as observant as I could be) and I see what I have been missing. I’m so glad to hear from you and thanks for connecting. Delighted that you found my website and dove right in and are enjoying it so much. Mangoes are fantastic aren’t they? I fell in love with them the first time I baked them (they are over the moon with a little added vanilla and a pinch of nutmeg, like the recipe shows in my book!)
It makes me feel warmed and bright all over to hear comments from lovely readers such as yourself that my writing brings them so much joy. With lots of fresh veg and herbs from our garden I would really enjoy trying out some of your summer recipes – mmm mouth watering already!
What is planted in your garden this year? I didn’t get my summer garden planted in time, sadly, was too busy writing, as the popularity of this online magazine is skyrocketing! I am planning my first fall garden though…lots of sweet potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts and such. Looking forward to hearing more about your garden!

Those brownies never last long in this house! They are so delicious. The unexpected taste of the cherries and lavender just make them such a gourmet treat.
